We can say with some pride that we know piers. Everyone at Pontech has worked with piers, pontoons and breakwaters for many years. Some of us have worked at different companies over the years, but what we have always had in common is our focus on quality and safety. We have even been involved in developing the technique and production system behind the high standards that our current products offer. At Pontech we are always working on developing and renewing our entire product line; our ambition is to always be on the cutting edge regarding product development.
How we work
Contracting for a harbour or pier can be a complicated project, but at Pontech we have developed a process that makes it easy to understand, while guaranteeing all the different parts and assuring the quality of the entire project. To explain the process in a simple manner, we have summarised it step by step below.
1. We begin by identifying your needs based on your terms of reference, on-site visits and mathematical calculations of waves, depth, etc. We also calculate wind-generated waves and incident waves from passing boats and ships. Then we produce design and sizing proposals, adding our experience and knowledge from similar projects.
2. Production phase – all of our products are manufactured in large series, with a high standardisation factor, in order to guarantee that the customer receives a product of the highest quality, design, and finish.
3. We deliver and assemble using new trucks and workboats in order to minimise our carbon footprint. Our own fitters, who have extensive experience with our floating piers and accessories, do the assembling.
As customer you are in continuous contact with the sales representative responsible for the project, as well as with the project manager in charge of the installation. This guarantees clarity in communication and prevents misunderstandings.
